After “Iron Fist”, now “Luke Cage” is canceled by Netflix

After the not shocking news about the cancelation of Marvel’s TV series “Iron Fist”, now Netflix apparently also cancel another Marvel’s TV series “Luke Cage”. “Luke Cage” has been canceled and no longer getting the third season.

In Deadline interview, Netflix and Marvel gave a statement about the cancelation of one of the strongest character on Marvel.

“Unfortunately, Marvel’s Luke Cage will not return for a third season. Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is grateful to the dedicated showrunner, writers, cast and crew who brought Harlem’s Hero to life for the past two seasons, and to all the fans who have supported the series.”

When the Marvel’s “Iron Fist” was canceled, fans expected to get the third season of “Luke Cage” since “Luke Cage” received more positive reviews than “Iron Fist”. Luke Cage’s first appearance was in Marvel’s “Jessica Jones” as Jones’s love interest, then he got his own TV series in November 2016, then later, he joined with another super heroes like Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist in Marvel’s “The Defenders” which aired in 2017.

Another Marvel’s TV series is most likely save for now. The third season of “Daredevil” already aired few days ago in Netflix. “Jessica Jones” was already renewed for the third season, and “The Punisher” was expected to air next year.
