The upcoming film from Ryan Reynolds, “Detective Pikachu” is already getting a sequel. The new source reports that “Detective Pikachu” sequel is in development despite the movie hasn’t been released yet.
The studio also has already hired the writer of “22 Jump Street”, Oren Uziel to become the screenwriter of “Detective Pikachu” sequel.
“Detective Pikachu” itself is a live-action of Japan’s animation “Pokemon”. Directed by Rob Letterman, and starring Reynolds, Ken Watanabe, Justice Smith, and Kathryn Newton. “Detective Pikachu” tells the story that involves the father of Smith’s teenage character being kidnapped, forcing him to team up with Pikachu in order to find him. Newton will portray a journalist.
Warner Bros will be the distributor of the film and Toho will be the distributor of the film in Japan. “Detective Pikachu” will open in theaters in May 10, 2019.
