“Game of Thrones” Prequel Casts Naomi Watts

Last year, HBO has announced that they are going to make prequel of series hit “Game of Thrones”, HBO also pointed out to George R.R Martin to make five projects that could be the prequel of “Game of Thrones”, and apparently, now we have some good news. One of them is they have found their leading lady for the prequel.

Deadline reports that actress Naomi Watts has been cast in prequel as leading player. There is no detail about the name of character, but it was explained that Watts will playing a charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret. Naomi Watts previously appeared in “Mulholland Drive”, “Birdman”, “The Ring”, “King Kong” and was nominated 2 times in Oscar for her role ini “21 Grams” and “The Impossible”.

In recent interview, Goldman, co-creator with George R.R Martin said:

It chronicles the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’ history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend… it’s not the story we think we know.

It means that the set of prequel will take place thousands before Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen. It also means that we will actually be diving deeper into several of the mysteries of Game of Thrones that has never fully explained.

There is no detail explanation about the title of the prequel, expected premiere date or other cast members attached.
