“Atlanta”s star, Lakeith Stanfield reportedly is in negotiation to star in the upcoming horror reboot “Candyman”.
Stanfield will re-teaming with Jordan Peele, who will be the producer of the film after their collaboration in the horror hit of 2017’s “Get Out”.
“Candyman” was a horror film released in 1992, tells the story of the urban legend of a killer that stalks teens after they say his name five times in the mirror. The killer is the long-dead artist and son of a slave that was killed in the late-19th century. He’s perhaps best known for having a hook jammed into the stump where his hand should be.
Nia DaCosta is set to be the director of the film and Jordan Peele will be the producer.
Lakeith Stanfield known best for his role in hit tv series “Atlanta”, appeared in horror movie “Get Out”, his latest film is “The Girl in the Spider’s Web”. He will also appear in the film “Knives Out” opposite Chris Evans.
There’s no official release date for the film, but the studio is expected to begin the production this year.
