“Ex Machina”s star, Oscar Isaac is in negotiation to star in the reboot of “Dune” movie opposite Timothée Chalamet.
According to Variety, Isaac would play the father of Chalamet’s character. Isaac will also join the rest of the casts including Rebecca Ferguson, Stellan Skarsgard, Dave Bautista, and Charlotte Rampling.
Denis Villeneuve, known best for his works in “Arrival” and “Blade Runner 2049” is set to be the director of “Dune” reboot. Not only directing, Villeneuve will also write the script alongside Eric Roth and Jon Spaihts.
“Dune” is a sci-fi saga by Frank Herbert in 1965. Then in 1984, “Dune” was adapted into big screen directed by David Lynch and starred by Kyle MacLachlan, Set in the distant future, the film chronicles Paul Atreides as his family battles for control of the harsh desert planet Arrakis, also known as Dune. The planet is the only source of a highly valuable drug which creates psychic abilities and is vital for space travel, making it the universe’s most valuable commodity.
The story explores themes of politics, religion, and man’s relationship with nature. Unfortunately, the film received negatif reviews and flopped at the box office.
Oscar Isaac known best for his role in multiple blockbuster movies such as “Star Wars” series, “X-Men Apocalypse”, “Annihilation” etc. His recent film is “At Eternity’s Gate” opposite Willem Dafoe. He will also appear in “The Addams Family” reboot as family patriarch Gomez Addams.
