Few months ago, there was rumor about “Star Wars” spinoff, Disney planned to make one of the characters in Star Wars universe a standalone film.
News emerged in May that Disney and Lucasfilm had been developing a “Star Wars” standalone movie centered on the bounty hunter Boba Fett.
Disney also pointed out James Mangold, director of “Logan”, as the director of the movie, although the project was never officially announced.
According to Variety, Lucasfilm is no longer developing the Boba Fett movie project. There was no comment or confirmation about the news.
Boba Fett appeared in the original Star Wars trilogy, his debuted was in “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back” that was released in 1980, he also made his second appearance in the next installment of Star Wars “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi” that was released in 1983 as mercenary fot the Galactic Empire. Jeremy Bulloch played the character in the two movies and Jason Wingreen provided Boba Fett’s voice.
This Boba Feet standalone movie, would have been Disney’s third movie in Star Wars anthology films. Their first film was “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” that was release in 2016 and gain financial success. Their second film was “Solo: A Star Wars Story” that was released this year, starring Alden Ehrenreich as young Han Solo, but this film is not very good at the box office, and considered as major disappointment with only gain less than $400 dollar worldwide.
