“Venom” set the record in China with $111 million debut

Sony’s “Venom” crushed box office in China with massive opening $111 million on its first weekend.

It makes “Venom” become the second biggest opening ever for superhero film, behind “Avengers: Infinity War”. “Venom” also set the record as the biggest opening for Sony along with “Jumanji: Welcome to Jungle” that was released this year.

Internationally, “Venom” already crossed $600 million. Earned more than $200 million in USA, and, earned more than $400 million overseas.

With massive successful in USA and worldwide, Sony has already on the way to make the sequel of “Venom”, with Carnage as the main villain. There are still no details information about the sequel, but one thing for sure, Tom Hardy will be back as Venom in the sequel.
