The sequel of 2013 horror zombie hit, “World War Z” is now officially being canceled by the studio.
Paramount Pictures as the studio had no comment about the news, but new source reports that the reason studio canceled the sequel is because budget for the film could not be reached.
“World War Z” was originally hit the theater in June 9, 2017 with Brad Pitt was set to return and J.A. Bayona was set to be the director, but exited the project due to unknown reason. Then later, David Fincher was signed for the project, but left to do the TV series “Mindhunter”.
Sources could not confirm what exactly the budget concerns were. The previous film also had the similar problem but survived and even make a hit at the box office with $540 million worldwide.
Its still unclear whether the sequel will go back into development with the right budget or be completely terminated by the studio.
